  4. The Babel multilingual system for plain TeX and LaTeX.

  6. Unpack on top of the TDS !TeX directory.

  8. DO NOT unpack on top of an old !TeX directory which does not use
  9. the TDS. The directory structure has changed!.
  10.  
  11. You will need to rebuild the LaTeX format for Babel to work. 
  12. You can change the file texmf:tex.generic.local.language/dat to
  13. use other hyphenation patterns.
